Correct Order of Initials
Monogram (noun) sign of identity usually formed of the combined initials of a name.
One letter - When a single letter is used, it is usually the first letter of the person's first name or last name. For example, Mary Elisabeth Bryant's single-letter monogram could be:M or B
Two letters - Two letters can symbolize one persons first and last name. In Mary Elisabeth Bryant's case:
MB
Three letters - The first letter of one persons first, middle, and last names. Mary Elisabeth Bryant's monogram could be done in two ways:
MBE or MEB
The first letter of the person's last name is larger and placed in the center with the first initial and the middle initial on each side. With all three letters the same size, the letters appear in the order the name is normally written.
Couples monogram - The monogram will contain the bride's first initial, the surname of the couple, and the groom's first initial, in that order. In this case, Rebecca and Andrew White would be:
